CS Long Beach Tries to End Losing Streak
LAS VEGAS — Cal State Long Beach will try to end a three-game losing streak today at 1 p.m. in a Big West Conference football game against Nevada Las Vegas.
Long Beach, which lost to Oregon, 52-10, last week, is 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the Big West. The 49ers’ most effective player has been receiver Sean Foster, who has caught 33 passes for 678 yards and five touchdowns in his last five games.
Las Vegas, coming off a 31-17 loss to Fresno State, is 3-4 and 2-2. The Rebels are led by Kyle Toomer, a 28-year-old senior fullback who rushed for 122 yards and caught a 69-yard touchdown pass against Fresno.
The teams have averaged a combined 53 points in their eight-game series.
