North Hollywood 27, Poly 18--Running back Maurice McFarland’s second touchdown of the night, a 46-yard run with 1:14 left in the game, sealed the victory for the Huskies at Poly. He finished with 126 yards in 13 carries.
Less than a minute earlier, Poly running back Jonathan Campbell scored from three yards to pull the Parrots to within 20-18, but a two-point conversion attempt failed. Campbell’s run capped a six-play, 80-yard drive.
The drive was kept alive on a 63-yard pass play from Lance Garcia to Eddie Guerrero on a fourth-and-five play.
Garcia led all rushers with 156 yards in 17 carries and scored one touchdown.
Leon Gable of North Hollywood (2-6, 2-3) rushed for 113 yards in 17 carries and scored two touchdowns, including a 39-yard run in the fourth quarter that broke a 12-12 tie.
Carlos Guerra gained 114 yards in 18 carries for Poly (1-6-1, 0-4-1).
