The City Council on Monday agreed to contract with departing City Atty. Joe Pannone and the law firm he is joining to represent the city after Pannone’s Nov. 17 resignation date.
The council voted unanimously to contract with Kane, Ballmer & Berkman, a firm based in downtown Los Angeles, at a rate of $115 an hour for Pannone’s services through the end of the year. Pannone will work at City Hall on Monday afternoons, Tuesday mornings, all day Thursdays, and during council meetings.
Kane, Ballmer & Berkman already serves as counsel for Culver City and about 20 other cities on community redevelopment issues.
Pannone, 35, who was appointed city attorney in 1986, announced his resignation in August.
