Jeff Fuller could move his right arm a little better, and doctors were cautiously optimistic that the San Francisco 49er safety’s injury was not as bad as had been feared.
Fuller was thought to have suffered three broken vertebrae in his neck during Sunday’s game against New England, threatening his career.
Dr. James Klint of Stanford Hospital said, however, that tests showed no broken vertebrae.
Meanwhile, quarterback Joe Montana, who suffered a knee injury against New England, is not expected to start Sunday against the New York Jets.
