HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Martin, Muir Romp to 34-8 Win Over Glendale
Demitrius Martin passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Muir High to a 34-8 Pacific League win over Glendale on Saturday night at Pasadena City College.
Martin connected with Sedric Thomas on scoring passes of 38 and eight yards. His two-yard sneak gave the Mustangs (5-1-1, 1-1) a 34-0 lead in the fourth quarter.
Reggie Hunt scored on a two-yard touchdown run and Stephan Crutchfield scored on an unusual 23-yard punt return in the third quarter for Muir.
The Dynamiters thought they had downed their own punt, but Crutchfield picked up the ball and returned it while Glendale sent its defensive team onto the field.
Glendale’s Pathon Rucker scored on a three-yard run with two minutes left. Quarterback Eric Kiesau ran in an option for the two-point conversion.
Muir limited the Dynamiters to 95 total yards, 67 of which came on the final drive of the game.
