Massive Earthquake Jolts Bay Area
Watching the earthquake destruction on television and seeing the fires raging out of control, I suddenly saw a fatal weakness in the earthquake preparedness plans for California. With broken water mains leaving little or no water available to fight fires, the inspiration came to me, “Why isn’t the state able to call out water-dropping aircraft used to fight forest fires?” Haven’t any of our state and local officials thought of this urgently-needed tool? Los Angeles may be next! We need water-drop aircraft placed in strategic areas throughout the state, ready to fly as soon as fires are found to be uncontrollable!
