Roundup : Royal Sweeps Westlake in Volleyball

Setter Michelle Pagan had 16 assists and six digs Tuesday as Royal High cruised by Westlake, 15-5, 15-5, 15-5, in a Marmonte League girls’ volleyball match at Royal.
Stephanie Champ had eight kills for Royal (4-0, 3-0 in league play) and teammate Jennifer Hamilton added 10 blocks. Westlake dropped to 1-2 in league play.
In other girls’ volleyball matches:
Thousand Oaks d. Channel Islands, 15-4, 15-1, 15-6--Amy Chellevold had 11 kills and Aimee Stone added nine for the Lancers, ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section 4-A Division, in a Marmonte League match at Channel Islands.
Jennifer Thorsen added three kills and had 14 service points, including 10 in a row, for Thousand Oaks (6-0, 2-0). Channel Islands is 0-3 in league play.
La Reina d. Oak Park, 15-11, 15-0, 15-3--Carolyn Russo had nine kills and Heather Freeman added seven to lead La Reina in a Tri-Valley League match.
Freeman and Sandi Reese combined for 17 blocks for La Reina (4-1, 2-0), ranked fourth in the Southern Section 2-A Division.
Louisville d. Calabasas, 15-5, 15-8, 15-11--Louisville needed only 55 minutes to win the nonleague match at Louisville. Mary Hudson had a team-high eight kills for Louisville (4-1), ranked No. 2 in the 4-A Division. Calabasas is ranked seventh in the 3-A.
Burroughs d. Marymount 15-3, 9-15, 15-8, 10-15, 15-13--Jennifer Wagner had 11 kills and Kim Barnfather had eight for host Burroughs (6-0) in a nonleague match.
Cleveland d. North Hollywood, 15-8, 15-3, 15-8--Monica Martin had three kills for the Cavaliers (3-0) in a nonleague match at Cleveland.
WATER POLO
Harvard 16, St. John Bosco 9--Hassan Yardimichi scored five goals to lead Harvard, ranked third in the Southern Section 3-A Division, in a Del Rey League match at Harvard.
Crespi 13, Servite 4--Vince Greco had a game-high five goals and teammate Jean Michel added three as Crespi (5-3, 1-1) defeated host Servite in a Del Rey League match.
MEN’S SOCCER
Moorpark 3, Orange Coast 3--Eric Gunther scored two goals and Richy Rungaitis added another as Moorpark (2-1-1) rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit in a nonconference match at Moorpark.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Pierce d. College of the Canyons, 15-5, 15-3, 15-3--Anna Suarez had 16 kills and seven service aces and Carina Sailer added six service aces to pace the Brahmas (5-0, 4-0) in a Western State Conference match at Canyons.
