Santa Barbara 39, Kennedy 13--Santa Barbara quarterback Poncho Renteria completed all six of his passes, three of them for touchdowns, at Santa Barbara.
The Dons built an 18-0 lead before Kennedy managed a first down. Sparked by a roughing-the-kicker penalty on fourth down at their own 29, the Cougars then marched 76 yards in 15 plays and capped the drive with an eight-yard scoring pass from Tony Vazquez to Jason Rosen. But Santa Barbara came back with two quick touchdowns to close out the first half.
Ontiwaun Carter rushed for 148 yards in 20 carries and set up both Kennedy touchdowns.
