Center Mark Eaton, the 1988-89 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, has signed a new five-year contract with the Utah Jazz, team officials announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the 7-foot-4 Eaton said he was pleased with the result of negotiations that came during the summer before the final year of his seven-year pact with the team. “It’s nice for me to feel appreciated for my efforts,” he said.
