NATO Begins Annual War Games in Italy

VENICE, Italy — NATO on Thursday began its annual fall maneuvers, which this year involve 205,000 troops in 16 land, air and sea exercises throughout Western Europe.
NATO’s Allied Command Europe said its Autumn Forge maneuvers began with the arrival of a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules transport plane from West Germany’s Rhein-Main Air Base.
