The strike against NYNEX Corp., which includes both New England Telephone and New York Telephone, plodded into a fifth week as New England representatives reported no progress on non-economic issues and their counterparts in New York and New Jersey elected not to try. Representatives of New England Telephone, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Communications Workers of America met for several hours.
