Making Waves Over a Sea Story
God knows I don’t ask a lot of the L.A. Times. Like hundreds of thousands of others, I am happy to overlook a few minor inaccuracies. It’s a small price to pay for being allowed to wallow in self-indulgent reviews of movies, music and restaurants.
However, can you explain to me how the budget of “The Abyss†went from $60 million dollars on the Aug. 6 cover to $50 million in Calendar Week on Page 9 to $43 million in the Martin Kasindorf article? Were you allowing for inflation?
If we can’t count on you to accurately report the budget of “The Abyss,†how can we count on you for the really important things--such as Sheila Benson’s Aug. 6 documentation of who has cinematic chemistry and who doesn’t?
Also, my thanks to Kasindorf for blowing the plot of “The Abyss.†You guys really are what we in L.A. richly deserve.
