Two-Thirds of World’s Children Immunized

GENEVA — Two out of every three of the world’s children are protected by vaccination against five main childhood diseases under a global immunization program, the World Health Organization said Friday.
It said 67% of children in the world receive three doses of poliomyelitis vaccine in their first year of life and 66% receive three doses of the DPT vaccine against diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus.
