Cancer Center Grant
The W. M. Keck Foundation has awarded a $1.8-million grant to the cancer center at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica. Hospital officials said it was the largest single donation that the hospital has received.
The cancer center is a comprehensive facility devoted to the early detection, treatment and prevention of cancer. It offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services and educational programs.
The Keck Foundation, based in Los Angeles, was established by William M. Keck, the late founder of Superior Oil Co. A major contributor to colleges and universities throughout the country, the foundation also provides support for education, health care, community service and arts programs in Southern California.
