Santa Monica : Rules on Saving Water
The City Council has adopted permanent water conservation measures based on emergency regulations implemented during last summer’s drought.
Beginning Sept. 7, the city will ban the washing down of driveways and patios, the watering of lawns between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the serving of water at restaurants unless requested by patrons.
However, lawns may be watered daily rather than on alternate days, as was ordered last year. A ban on filling empty pools and spas has also been rescinded.
