P. M. BRIEFING : Federal Express Gets Japan Flights

TOKYO — Japan has allowed Federal Express Corp. of the United States to take over about 30 weekly cargo flights between the two countries previously operated by Flying Tiger Line Inc., the Transport Ministry said today.
The ministry said it made the decision following Federal Express’ purchase of Flying Tiger last December. Ministry officials said Federal Express will become the largest air cargo carrier serving Japan, with a weekly flight total of between 33 and 36.
