Contra Case
I am puzzled by the federal judge who recently dismissed Neutrality Act charges against the Calero brothers and their associates (“Judges Dismisses Contra Aid Counts, Cites U.S. ‘War’ Against Nicaragua,†Part I, July 14).
How can a court of law justify law-breaking by governmental agents merely because their more highly placed superiors encouraged or condoned their actions?
Even though the Reagans of the world are seemingly above the rule of law, potential Caleros should, at the very least, be put on notice that they flout the law at their own peril.
