Inquiry Into Soybean Price Drop: The Commodities Futures Trading Commission says it will review the trading positions of Chicago Board of Trade directors to see if any of them profited from the drop in soybean prices precipitated by their emergency order last week. The CFTC made the announcement as Italian agribusiness giant Ferruzzi said it would renew its court battle to recover losses from a Board of Trade order forcing soybean traders to liquidate large positions in the market. A Ferruzzi spokesman said a lawsuit probably will be filed in Chicago. The company indicated that it might seek compensation for unrealized profits and damage to its reputation.
