Hearns’ Younger Brother Charged

The younger brother of boxer Thomas Hearns was ordered Friday to stand trial for first-degree murder in the shooting of a young woman in the bedroom of Hearns’ house at Southfield, Mich., last month.

Henry Hearns, 22, was being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail, pending arraignment July 18.

Hearns is accused of killing his girlfriend, Nancy Barile, 19, on June 10. If convicted, Hearns would face a mandatory life sentence without parole.

Judge Stephen Cooper ordered Hearns bound over for trial after a two-day preliminary hearing.
