Jet Engine Maker to Double Output: CFM International, a joint venture between France’s SNECMA and the U.S. giant General Electric Co., announced new orders worth $1.5 billion and plans to nearly double its output of jet engines in the next three years. Jean Bilien, CFM chairman, reported orders for at least 250 engines from Beverly Hills-based International Lease Finance Corp., one of several aircraft leasing firms that have placed huge orders with Boeing and Airbus. The order is for at least 200 CFM-56 and 50 GE CF6-80C2 engines for Boeing, Airbus and McDonnell Douglas planes.
