Southern Section Softball Playoffs : Hart’s Weil Loses No-Hitter, Shutout and Game
Kym Weil of Hart High lost her bid for a no-hitter in the seventh inning of Friday’s Southern Section 4-A Division quarterfinal game at Western High.
Shortly thereafter, she lost the game, 1-0, on an unearned run.
Lisa Sciarrino led off Western’s half of the seventh with a triple to center field. Weil (25-2) got two outs on a strikeout and an infield popup before Wendy McDermott grounded to second baseman Nikki Fox, who bobbled the ball for an error, allowing Sciarrino to score from third base.
1-A DIVISION
Agoura 13, Notre Dame Academy 0--Tamara Dulansky homered twice and had five RBIs and sophomore right-hander Melissa Thatcher threw a three-hitter to lead the host Chargers (21-2) in the quarterfinal game.
Jill Hartwig had four singles, scored three times and had two RBIs to pace Agoura’s 15-hit attack.
