Crystal Cove : Plane Wreckage Sought as Pilot’s Body Identified
- Share via
The body of a man who washed ashore near Crystal Cove State Park this week was identified Wednesday as a Huntington Beach resident who may have crashed his airplane off the county coast, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Earl David Ullerick, 50, was found by a jogger Tuesday morning. He was last seen Saturday as he took off alone in a single-engine, two-seat airplane from Huntington Beach’s Meadowlark Airport, the spokesman said. Ullerick had not filed a flight plan.
There were no reports of a crash that day, but officials are searching the water for the plane’s wreckage.
