Oakwood Corporate Apartments, the lodging company that specializes in providing long-term accommodations for business travelers and corporate executives, has signed an agreement with Tokyo-based Asahi Homes Ltd. that calls for the two companies to operate a reciprocal guest-referral program.
The deal marks Oakwood’s first overseas involvement in the lodging industry. Terms call for the two companies to launch cooperative marketing and guest-referral activities designed to attract Japanese business travelers to Oakwood apartments in the U.S. and American business travelers to Asahi’s lodging facilities in Japan.
An executive of Los Angeles-based R&B; Management Co., the company that manages Oakwood’s 64 U.S. facilities, said the agreement is expected to lead to additional transactions.
