105 Anti-Abortion Activists Arrested at Medical Center
From United Press International
CLEVELAND — Police officers arrested 105 of 200 protesters sitting on sidewalks and streets in a steady rain Saturday trying to block entrances to a medical center where abortions are performed.
The arrests at the University Cedar Medical Center were mostly for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, a police spokeswoman said.
More than 100 pro-choice volunteers escorted patients into the center. All patients who had appointments were seen, said Helen Pointer, the center’s director of counseling.
