I agree with your editorial that shipping 2,000 more troops to Panama is an “unnecessary deployment.” This unilateral macho maneuver by Bush, supported by the bipartisan congressional stooges, will live in infamy along with such U.S. foreign policy blunders as, for example, the Tonkin Gulf Resolution.
Sometimes I think our Central American policy is dreamed up by the son of Elliott Abrams, and will be as successful.
