4 Students Awarded $2,000 Scholarships

Four students of Glendale-area schools have been selected to receive $2,000 National Merit Scholarships.
The winners and their fields of study are: Lapoe E. Lynn of Eagle Rock, Glendale High School, electrical/aerospace engineering; Jennie M. Kim of La Canada, La Canada High School, genetics; Ivan C. Yen of Los Angeles, Franklin High School, business management, and Catherine A. Andrews of Pasadena, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, biological engineering.
They were among 1,800 students nationwide selected from about 14,000 finalists for the awards sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. The program also includes scholarships sponsored by corporations and colleges.
