Cal Lutheran, Moorpark Set for Softball Finals

Cal Lutheran will face Kearney State (Neb.) Thursday in a first-round game in the NAIA softball championships in Midland, Mich.
Moorpark (35-10) will open its first trip to the state junior college softball championships Friday at 2 p.m. with a first-round game against West Valley College at Golden West College in Huntington Beach.
Cal Lutheran (35-16) qualified for the national tournament for the first time last season, but lost its first two games in the double-elimination tournament.
Kearney State (28-14) has played in the NAIA nationals a record eight times. The Lady Lopers, champions of the Central States Intercollegiate Conference, were national champions in 1987.
