Spence Says She’ll Play Volleyball at New Mexico

Lanie Spence of Capistrano Valley High School has made an oral commitment to attend the University of New Mexico, where she will play volleyball in the fall.
Spence, a 5-foot 10-inch middle blocker, helped the Cougars reach the Southern Section 5-A semifinals last fall. She was a second-team All-South Coast League selection. Spence visited Washington State, Santa Clara and UC Irvine before deciding on New Mexico.
