Cal Lutheran to Open Bi-District Softball Playoffs

Cal Lutheran will play host to Mesa College (19-8) of Grand Junction, Colo., at 11 this morning in the first round of an NAIA bi-district softball tournament.
The second game of the best-of-three series involving teams from districts 3 and 7 is scheduled for 1 p.m., and, a third game, if necessary, will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cal Lutheran.
The winner advances to the national tournament, May 18-20, in Midland, Mich.
Cal Lutheran (33-16) is led by DeeAndra Pilkington, a junior right-hander with a 17-4 record and a 1.04 earned-run average. Pilkington also leads the Regals with a .418 batting average.
