Limited Inc.: The women’s apparel retailer’s first-quarter profit jumped 89% to $45.2 million on a 19% increase in sales to $964.6 million. Limited, based in Columbus, Ohio, said the performance was the result of a strong effort to control costs. Limited owns Lerner and Express fashion stores, Victoria’s Secret, Lane Bryant and Abercrombie & Fitch.
