Kentucky won an academic achievement award from the College Football Assn. because 90% of the players who entered the school in 1983 graduated within five years.
Twelve other CFA schools received honorable mention for having a graduation rate of at least 70%: Boston College, Colorado, Duke, Kansas State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Rice, Tennessee, Tulane, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
