Borquez, Lawson Select Colleges

Sprinter Tony Borquez of Alemany High and distance runner Craig Lawson of Granada Hills High will attend USC and Brigham Young, respectively, in the fall.

Borquez, eighth in the 400 meters in last year’s state championships, signed a letter of intent Wednesday. He also considered UCLA and Cal State Northridge.

Lawson, the City Section cross-country champion, will attend BYU on an academic scholarship.
