IN BRIEF : S.F. ‘49ers Waive Doug DuBose
From Times wire services
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The San Francisco 49ers have waived running back Doug DuBose, who finished the season on injured reserve.
DuBose, in his second year out of Nebraska, injured his knee against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 18. He rushed 24 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns last season.
DuBose, waived Tuesday, was suspended for four weeks of training camp before the 1988 season after failing a drug test. General Manager John McVay declined to say if the waiver was drug-related.
