Local : Bernardi, Hall to Debate in Pacoima
Los Angeles City Council incumbent Ernani Bernardi and candidate Lyle Hall will meet tonight in a debate before members of a San Fernando Valley grass-roots citizens organization.
Hall, a retired Los Angeles City Fire Department captain, and Bernardi, a 28-year council veteran, will speak at 7:30 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 10390 Remick St., Pacoima. The two are vying for the northeast San Fernando Valley’s 7th District in a runoff election June 6.
More than 300 members of a church- and synagogue-based group called VOICE, for Valley Organized in Community Efforts, will question the candidates on such issues as crime, the proliferation of junkyards and school safety.
