Utah Governor Signs Bill to Provide Fusion Funds

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Gov. Norman H. Bangerter Wednesday signed legislation setting aside $5 million to develop the room-temperature nuclear fusion process being called a possible source of cheap, safe energy.
Bangerter said work needs to continue as quickly as possible to develop the technology and explore commercial application.
Scientists nationwide have been attempting to duplicate the claimed fusion breakthrough at the University of Utah.
