Bicyclist Discovers Body in Storm Drain
The badly decomposed body of what appeared to be a girl or a small woman was discovered by a bicyclist Wednesday in a Chatsworth storm drain, police said.
Los Angeles police homicide detectives were trying to determine whether the victim had been murdered, but the cause of death was unknown, Los Angeles police Officer Tom Collata said.
Her name, age and race also were unknown, police said.
The body was found about 5:15 p.m. in a rural area adjacent to Santa Susana Pass Road, about 1.5 miles west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, authorities said. It was not known how long the victim had been dead.
