Actor Todd Bridges Denied Reduced Bail
Despite a plea from actor Todd Bridges, a Superior Court judge refused to lower his $2-million bail on charges that he nearly killed a man in a shooting in a rock cocaine house in February.
“What I can’t understand is why I’m a danger to society,†Bridges, 23, a former child star of the NBC-TV series “Diff’rent Strokes,†told Judge David Horowitz.
Bridges is charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 25-year-old man who was allegedly serving as a lookout at a South-Central Los Angeles rock house Feb. 2.
“I can’t undergo drug treatment while I’m in jail,†Bridges said, as his mother and other family members looked on. But Horowitz turned down the defense request to lower Bridges’ bail to $50,000 and ordered him to remain in custody pending a May 19 pretrial hearing.
