High School Roundup : Royal Continues to Dominate Frontier League in Volleyball

Royal High posted its seventh consecutive boys’ volleyball victory Friday, defeating Camarillo 15-2, 15-6, 15-2, in a Frontier League match at Royal.
Craig Parker had 13 kills and Ethan Weiss had eight for Royal (9-1 overall, 4-0 in league play), which is ranked second in the Southern Section 2--A Division.
In other volleyball matches:
San Gabriel d. Hart, 15-13, 11-15, 15-6, 15-3--Jon Flaig had 11 kills, but Hart (8-2, 3-1) dropped the Golden League match.
Alemany d. St. John Bosco, 15-9, 15-10, 12-15, 15-11--Matt Garland had 17 kills, Mike Golden added 11 and Mike Finnegan had nine blocks for Alemany (5-7, 2-2) in a Del Rey League match at Alemany.
SOFTBALL
Agoura 2, Calabasas 1--Agoura’s Jill Hartwig scored on Michelle Ray’s single in the ninth inning of the Frontier League game at Calabasas. Melissa Thatcher (11-2) pitched a complete game, striking out 11 for the Chargers.
Maranatha 8, Montclair Prep 6--Tamara Silvera doubled twice for Montclair Prep (7-8, 2-1) in an Alpha League game.
BOYS’ SWIMMING
Agoura 82, Calabasas 80--Brad Shenfeld won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:46.64 and the 500 freestyle in 4:48.68, but Calabasas lost the Frontier League meet at home.
