Community College Roundup : Sanchez Leads Rancho Santiago Past Cypress in Softball

Pitcher Natalie Sanchez allowed three hits to lead Rancho Santiago College to a 2-0 Orange Empire Conference softball victory over Cypress on Wednesday at Cypress.
Sanchez (20-12), who struck out two, has pitched 39 consecutive scoreless innings. Offensively, Rancho Santiago (21-13, 6-5) got a good measure of help from a Cypress defense that committed five errors.
Losing pitcher Sally Dugas (7-5) allowed just four hits. Cypress is 24-11, 4-7.
In another Orange Empire Conference game:
Fullerton 2, Orange Coast 0--Kristin Jacobs pitched a one-hitter, striking out eight, for Fullerton (23-7, 11-1) at Fullerton. The Hornets scored two runs on an error in the third inning.
