Darryl Strawberry, New York Mets outfielder, was involved in two shoving incidents during the sixth inning of an exhibition game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Dunedin, Fla.
The first altercation started when pitcher Jeff Musselman hit Strawberry in the back with a pitch, and the right fielder ran out to the mound. Strawberry was tackled by catcher Pat Borders and third baseman Kelly Gruber before he could reach Musselman.
Then, when Strawberry advanced to third base, he and Gruber argued briefly and began to scuffle. Both benches emptied, the players were separated and Strawberry was ejected.
