Setback for Remodels
Beverly Hills has approved zoning changes that provide that at least 25% of the front of a remodeled or new house be set back 10 feet or more from the rest of the home’s front facade.
Homeowners who want houses with flat facades, which are often perceived as bulky, will be able to present their case to a review board made up of architects and other Beverly Hills residents.
The rules were adopted despite an attempt to exempt Colonial-style and other traditional front elevations that have flat facades.
