Police have recovered a stolen Rodin sculpture valued at more than $75,000 from the basement of a downtown Philadelphia building. “Mask of the Man With the Broken Nose,” a 10-inch tall bust done by Auguste Rodin 125 years ago, was found Friday wrapped in brown paper under a tarpaulin hidden beneath a sewer line in the basement, police said. It wasn’t damaged. The discovery came one day after police arrested Stephen W. Shih, 24. He was charged with stealing the bust at gunpoint on Nov. 23 after firing a warning shot and shackling three museum guards together. Shih was awaiting arraignment on charges of robbery, theft, unlawful restraint, simple assault and weapons offenses, according to Philadelphia police.
