CS Fullerton Gives Sneed 3-Year Contract
Cal State Fullerton ended its basketball season Friday night with a loss to Nevada Las Vegas but applied the finishing touch Saturday by naming John Sneed as its basketball coach, giving him a three-year contract.
Sneed, 40, was named acting coach when George McQuarn resigned Nov. 3. He guided the Titans to a 16-13 season that included an upset of Nevada Las Vegas.
Sneed was an assistant under McQuarn for eight years. He was also an assistant at Arizona and San Diego State, and had a record of 81-8 in three seasons as the head coach at Verbum Dei High School, where his team won the CIF 4-A championship in 1974.
