The Buffalo Sabres obtained veteran goalie Clint Malarchuk and defenseman Grant Ledyard from the Washington Capitals for defenseman Calle Johansson.
A Sabre spokesman said Buffalo also sent a second-round pick in next year’s draft to Washington for the Capitals’ sixth-round pick in 1991.
