Quiksilver Inc. reported that net income for the first quarter ended Jan. 31 more than doubled to $822,000 from $380,000 in the comparable period last year. Net sales for the quarter rose 56% to $12.5 million from $8 million. Quiksilver, Costa Mesa, designs, arranges for the manufacture of, and distributes beachwear, ski wear and casual clothing primarily for young men and boys.
