Loyola Attempts to Remain Close in WCAC Race

Loyola Marymount closes out its home basketball schedule this weekend with West Coast Athletic Conference games against Portland tonight and Gonzaga on Saturday. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.
The Lions (14-9 overall, 7-3 in the WCAC) are one game behind St. Mary’s and 1 1/2 games behind Pepperdine.
Portland (2-21, 2-8) is coming off an upset victory over USF. But after the USF game, scoring leader Josh Lowery, averaging 16 points a game, allegedly punched a female student at a party and has been suspended indefinitely. No other Pilot player is averaging more than 8 points.
