A 54-year-old Long Beach man driving on the Garden Grove Freeway apparently suffered a heart attack Thursday evening and ran off the road, California Highway Patrol officers said.
The motorist died at Westminster Humana Hospital.
He had been driving east approaching the San Diego Freeway when his car left the freeway at about 6 p.m., CHP dispatcher Joanne Losenno said. No one else was injured in the accident.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
