J. H. Snyder Co. of Los Angeles has a new partner, Ray Kaplan. He comes to the development company from the law firm of Rudin & Appel. Kaplan’s background includes 23 years of experience in business and real estate matters as a practicing attorney.

David Meyers of Rancho Santa Fe has been named president of Watt Homes San Diego Inc., the newest home-building division of Watt Industries Inc. The focus of this division will be on affordable residential homes in San Diego and Riverside counties. Meyers’ responsibilities will include acquisitions, development, sales and marketing.

Jo Etta Bandy has become the Fullerton-based Covington Development Group’s vice president of corporate communications. She will continue to oversee the company’s investor relations programs, which she previously handled as director, and in her new capacity, she will also handle all general public relations and communicaitons matters.

The Apartment Assn. of Greater Los Angeles has announced that Robert K. Green will serve as its seventh president. The association is the largest local apartment organization in the nation, with 25,000 members. Green was its first vice president in 1988 and secretary in 1986.

Douglas Forker of Pasadena’s Countrywide Funding Corp. will take on the responsibilities of production, underwriting and funding operations for the company’s correspondent lending program in his newly appointed post as first vice president.

The American Society of Real Estate Counselors has elected Ronald Buss to serve a three-year term on its board of governors. He is president of Buss-Shelger Associates, Los Angeles.

Economics Research Associates’ board of directors has a new president, Austin G. Anderson, and a new vice chairman, Wayne R. Wilson. Anderson will continue to be active in real estate economic planning and analysis while overseeing the firm’s operations, and Wilson will be coordinating the development of new services in the recreation industry.

Jimmie Nord has received appointment to the Code Review Subcommittee of the California Assn. of Hospitals and Health Systems. She is currently serving as professional education chairman of the National Assn. of Women in Construction.

Sunland Consolidated Inc. of San Diego has created a new position of vice president and general counsel to be held by Scott Rollins. He will handle the company’s legal and financing matters in land acquisitions, joint-venture formations and asset sales.

The Sammis Co.’s Los Angeles/Ventura County office has a new senior vice president, William N. Eddy. Eddy will continue to oversee marketing programs for projects in the area.

Donald J. Venitsky recently joined Cal-Pac Construction Inc. of Los Angeles as director of business development. He will manage the company’s business in the commercial, medical, tenant improvement and renovation markets.
