Local News in Brief : Rail Security Officer Gets National Post
A Long Beach railroad security official has been elected national vice president of the Latino Peace Officers Assn., the 2,500-member organization announced.
J. J. Gomez, 49, division superintendent of police for Santa Fe Railway, is responsible for crime prevention and investigation of crimes against the railroad in the Los Angeles area. He has served on the Latino Peace Officers Assn. state executive board and on the Orange County chapter executive board. He also has edited the association’s national newspaper.
The Latino Peace Officers Assn. is composed of federal, state, municipal and railroad law enforcement officers.
