General Dynamics Corp.’s 1988 net income dipped 13% to $379 million. Sales rose to $9.6 billion, up 2%. The St. Louis aerospace, aircraft and defense firm said the results were partly caused by expenditures for the Air Force’s Advanced Tactical Fighter, which continue to reduce operating earnings in its military aircraft line. The firm also noted that 1987 earnings include tax benefits of $85 million.
